 Mick Jagger Wants to Buy Land in Udaipur
The Hindustan Times, January 31, 2007 UDAIPUR: Music legend Mick Jagger, who made a quiet visit to Udaipur last week with his daughter, was so impressed by the scenic beauty of the city that he has expressed interest in buying a piece of land here. Jagger, 64, and best known as the lead singer of Rolling Stones, had come to this lake city along with daughter Jade to attend the wedding of his close friend and former cricketer Dilip Doshi's son on January 21. "Mick Jagger and Jade had come here on January 21 and they stayed in the Hotel Lake Palace here till January 26," a source at the Taj goup's Hotel Lake Palace said. He said that Jagger evinced interest in the city, mentioning he would like to buy a piece of land in Udaipur as he really "liked the peace and scenic beauty of Udaipur". |

Udaipur, January 07, 2008 Madonna enjoys Udaipur  After spending seven days in and around historic city of Jodhpur, Madonna Sunday landed in Udaipur, a city of majestic palaces and beautiful lakes in Rajasthan. "She came early in the morning at around 11.30 a.m. and straight away drove to Hotel Udai Vilas," informed sources told IANS. Adorning the banks of Lake Pichola and standing witness to the historic City Palace, The Oberoi Udai Vilas captures all the romance and splendour of a royal era... She has liked Rajasthan so much that she has extended her stay in the state by two more days. "Earlier she was expected to leave the state Jan 5 but now she is slated to leave Jan 7 and chances are high she may further extend it by a day or two," the sources added. |

30 January 2007  Udaipur (Rajasthan), Jan 30 - Hollywood stars Owen Wilson and Adrian Brody have completed the last leg of shooting schedule for 'Darjeeling Limited' in this city of palaces and lakes known as the Venice of the East.
The Academy Award-nominated American actor-writer along with co-stars Broody and Jason Schwartzmanare had landed here Jan 17 and spent about eight hours every day shooting for the India-centric film...
When they were not shooting, the actors preferred to stay mostly indoors at the palatial Udaivilas hotel, which adorns the banks of the Lake Pichhola. |
