David Crow and USW invite you to join us in Udaipur, Rajasthan for an interactive exploration of the past, powers and future promise of the aromatic herbal world.
Basic Content
A two week course led by David featuring advanced aromatherapy classes, studies of successful grassroots healthcare systems, meditation sessions, and interactive practical lessons with local medicinal plant experts, Ayurvedic physicians, and traditional village healers.
The course will explore the entire range of healing plant wisdom from its ancient cultural roots and psycho-spiritual benefits to its practical uses for personal well-being and its implications for regenerating sustainable local economies and a post-corporate approach to public health.
Events include:
- Visits to local forests, farms and rural herbal gardens with village healers and botanical experts
- Study tours to Ayurvedic clinics, colleges and hospitals
- Cultural/spiritual programs showing the use of herbs and aromatic plants in Indian & Mewari society
- Ceremonial and ritual use of aromatic plants in classical and folk/tribal traditions
Explorations of natural medicinal plants as a basis for increasing rural prosperity, community vitality, and health care self-sufficiency
Classes will be offered to both international students and local residents as a cultural exchange of ideas to develop and enrich the field of medicinal plants in general and aromatic products specifically. David Crow will teach half the curriculum, and distinguished local teachers will teach the other half. Formal participation certificates will be issued for potential academic credit.
